WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America have been at the forefront of instilling timeless values in youth since its founding in 1910 and
Whereas, this national youth movement has made serving others through its values-based program its mission; and
Whereas, the BSA is committed to helping millions of youth succeed by providing the support, friendship and mentoring necessary to live a happy and fulfilling life; and
Whereas the Voyageurs Area Council, BSA and its Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, Exploring Posts are celebrating our councils 25th Anniversary and
Whereas there are many community organizations that make Scouting available for more than 300 youth members in our area who participate in Scouting programs as a means of character building, citizenship training, personal fitness and serving their communities.
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved, I Rita Albrecht, Mayor of the City of Bemidji do hereby proclaim August 1 2019 as

Introduction of Scouts and adults in uniform
The Community is invited and the Mayor, Chamber and United Way will be in attendance
Boy Scouts will raise a flag to "fly" over Bemidji for Boy Scout Day
The Boy Scouts will retire a flag from the Chamber
The Mayor (Rita Albrecht) will read the Proclamation
response from members of the community
followed by a group photo
