Often, we find ourselves needing to have difficult conversations with others. Whether it be community and societal issues where passions run deep, or simple day-to-day disagreements with others, beginning the discussion can be daunting. The panelists will discuss how to start such conversations by first putting ourselves in a state of mindfulness, followed by identifying some communication strategies for effective dialogue, and conclude with examples of enacting these strategies as we work toward bridging relationships in our local community. We may not always agree with individuals, but we can move toward mutual respect in hopes of strengthening and maintaining personal and organizational relationships.
