Join us at Headwaters Music and Arts for Headwaters Open Mic and CoffeeHouse November 5 at 7pm. Offering an Open Mic opportunity in downtown Bemidji (519 MN Ave NW) CoffeeHouse attendees can expect to enjoy the sounds of community artists and our featured performer, Mauro Gutierrez. Sign-up begins at 6:30 or by email to jjhgaard@gmail.com. Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, guitarist Mauro Gutierrez started playing music at 15, following in the steps of his father, grandfather and great grandfather (who played in a Tango orchestra in the 40's). Mauro played in 4 different bands in Argentina in styles that included rock, hard rock, funk and blues. Having moved to Bemidji 3 years ago, he currently plays with The Occassionals and at his solo gigs around town. On November 5 Mauro will share Argentinian folk music, some rock, blues and original instrumental songs. Held on the first Friday of most months, the Headwaters Open Mic offers a welcoming and supportive community for musicians and spoken-word performers. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Headwaters CoffeeHouse is a volunteer-led community event at Headwaters Music & Arts held the first Friday of most months. Fun, welcoming, family friendly and supportive, the event has a relaxed and casual tone that encourages musicians, singers, and spoken word performers of all ages and skill levels. $3 / person or $7 / family Doors open at 6:30pm for sign up Music 7-10pm Do you want to be a part of things?
