Friday Jun 2, 2023
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM CDT
Headwaters Music and Arts hosts Headwaters Open Mic and CoffeeHouse at their downtown location. The monthly community gathering offers a friendly open mic opportunity and welcoming environment for folks to listen, perform, and mingle with fellow Open Mic attendees. The Bemidji Bog Trotters will be the featured group of the evening. Sign-up for the Open Mic begins at 6:30 or by email to jjhgaard@gmail.com.
The Bemidji Bog Trotters put their twist on folk music from around the world, proving that accordion and guitar can peacefully coexist! Jeff Anderson (accordion) and Jay Forney (guitar) began playing together after meeting and discovering a shared interest in Celtic music while at a Monroe Crossing concert in 2015. Since then, they have evolved, adding to their repertoire a variety of ethnic folk music including Tex-Mex, Cajun/Zydeco, Scandinavian and Klezmer. You can join them for a foot-tapping good time on June 2.
Held on the first Friday of most months, Headwaters Open Mic and CoffeeHouse offers a welcoming and supportive community for musicians and spoken-word performers. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Headwaters Open Mic and CoffeeHouse is a volunteer-led community event. You can contact John Henningsgaard at (218) 444.9845 for more information.
