Aandakiiwan explores the quiet, profound way life shifts with the seasons. Working in monotype on ledger paper, this exhibition draws on sweetgrass, yarrow, sage, and other traditional medicines — plants that carry both physical presence and spiritual weight in Ojibwe culture — pressed and printed directly into each piece.
Anna Johnson (Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians) is a visual artist and small business owner based in Fargo, North Dakota. Raised in Bismarck, she brings a working-person’s sensibility to her practice — informed by years in the trades — while weaving in Ojibwe floral design traditions that run through nearly everything she makes.
